On this episode of Hawaiian Grown Kitchen, Executive Chef Grant Kawasaki invites Raeceen Woolford, Miss Hawaii 2009 to cook us her favorite dish as she prepares for the 2010 Miss America Pageant.

Raeceen Woolford, crowned as new Miss Hawaii on Saturday night. Woolford graduated in 2008 from University of Hawaii, she use to play volleyball in the University team, she said that there is not much difference in sports and pageants.

Raeceen Woolford has never been involved in beauty pageants her whole life, actually she started all this just three years ago, for the former UH volleryball player it was just another challenge. Raeceen Woolfords first love has always been Volleyball.

Raeceen Woolford said that her teammates encouraged her to participate in the pageant; they told her that she can do it. She said that her volleyball routine and discipline helped her to become Miss Hawaii.

The 24-year-old Woolford said that role of responsibility, ability to handle pressure, to be in front of a crow and be comfortable in your own skin are the things which helped her to come in to the spotlight.

New Miss Hawaii Raeceen Woolford said it is all about staying humble and true to your roots, with a Bachelors Degree in health studies Raeceen Woolford has plans to apply for some graduate school to acquire an advance degree in public health, she has plans to become a physician.

Raeceen Woolford will appear at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas to compete in Miss America pageant on 30th January, 2010.
