What to try some Kahuku ogo? You'll find it in Waipahu at Tanioka's.

Tanioka's Seafood and Catering first opened it doors in October 1978 by Mel and Lynn Tanioka. With the support of family and friends, Tanioka's has grown from a 1,000 square foot space with 4 employees to their own 7,000 square foot building with over a hundred hard working and dedicated employees. Long hours and blessings from above, along with an unwavering commitment to their motto "Quality Foods with a Friendly Smile" has earned Tanioka's numerous awards including the U.S. Small Business Award, Family Business of the Year awarded by the University of Hawaii Family Business Center, Pride in Waipahu Award, Hawaii's Best awarded by the Star Bulletin and Mid-Week, People's Choice Awards Best of the Best awarded by The Honolulu Advertiser, and numerous recognitions by the City and County of Honolulu, the House of Representatives, and the Senate of the State of Hawaii.

Tanioka's Management Team continues the 30 year tradition of offering "Quality Foods with a Friendly Smile". Daughter, Jasmine Tanioka Lum, a graduate of Punahou Schools and the University of Hawaii, is responsible for the administrative division supported by Office Manager Gail Bunda. Son, Justin Tanioka, who has been with the company since he was one month old, is now the General Manager of Operations with his assistant General Manager Donnovan Suemoto. Other managers include Retail Manager Tad Yamakawa, Seafood Manager Glenn Balais, Catering Manager Jensen Endo and Office Catering Manager Lauren Miyashiro. Special consultants who direct food quality control include sister Esther Ringor, mother Thelma Furukawa, and 29 year veteran Joann Abilla who created many of Tanioka's delicious poke recipes.
